Acupuncture

At Body Wise Therapies OK we practice the TCM style of Acupuncture and employ the use of both Tongue & Pulse diagnosis to help confirm our suspected patterns of imbalance.  The TCM style of acupuncture uses the consensus based standardly agreed upon acupuncture points that are used to treat patterns of imbalance in the body.  Client often exhibit anywhere from 3-5 sepearate patterns of imbalance, however, it is not uncommon for clients to exhibit between 8 and 10 separate patterns of imbalance and sometimes more depending upon their severity of the conditions they have. We are not western medicine doctors and therefore do NOT profess to treat, cure, or diagnose ANY disease but to simply provide the elements for the body to balance itself.

An acupuncture treatment for the first time visitor can take up to 3 hours but averages about 2 hours.  Subsequent visits traditionally take 1-2 hours.  The average session will employ anywhere from 4 to approximately 20 needles.  At times, moxa will be employed.  Some patterns of imbalance require only needles placed while the client is seated, other patterns of imbalance may require the placement of needles on the back and/or backside of the body while the client is reclining on one of our tables.
